When students come to school we expect that they come well equipped with their work tools and all that they need for their day. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. When a classroom teacher and school team are able to make materials readily accessible for those who are in need, this becomes a great venue to provide a sense of taking care of and belonging that will enable a student to feel ‘equal’ within their class community. By being the ‘provider’ in a generous manner, one is priming connection that the student can trust and rely on. This enables the student to provide the best of themselves in the face of learning and relationships.
